Abstract

1,211,509. Mechanical switches. SEALECTRO CORP. 8 May, 1969, No. 23597/69. Heading H1N. A switch includes a housing 10 and a removable closure plate 11 bearing, on an inner surface, contacts 42 and contact 46, a rotatable lever 30 for effecting connection between a contact 42 and contact 46, lever 30 being longitudinally slidable between two limiting positions A, B, Fig. 8 (not shown), and bearing a projection (59, Fig. 8) which is received in one of a plurality of slots 29 in housing 10 to prevent rotation of lever 30 when lever 30 is in one position, a contact 42 and contact 46 being bridged in that position, movement of lever 30 to the other position breaking contact and permitting rotation of lever 30 to make contact between another contact 42 and contact 46. As shown, a contact spring 61 is fastened to lever 30 for making the connection and lever 30 is mounted in a slot in a rotary carrier journalled in housing 10 and cover 11 and having notches 41 co-operating with detent springs 21. When contact spring 61 breaks contact with contacts 42, 46 the lower part of spring 61 makes connection with contact 49. Contacts 42, 46, 49 are imprinted or etched and external connection to contacts 42 can be made by an insulating channel member 64, Figs. 4, 8 (not shown), carrying spring contacts 66, (Figs. 4, 8), channel 64 can be cemented in place. A number of switches can be mounted side by side.
