Abstract

1484640 Bidets; bedpans J D MOINE and R J MOINE 4 Jan 1977 47082/74 Heading A4N A strong lightweight receptacle, suitable for use alternatively as a bidet or a bedpan, comprises a bowl provided with a wide and rounded rim 4 upon which an average person may sit comfortably, a pair of tubes 8 located behind a horizontal slit 7, supported by the rim, and suitable for connection to other tubes, and a spout 11 by means of which the contents of the bowl may be easily poured away. A stopper, Fig. 2, (not shown) may block off the tubes and the slit when the receptacle is used as a bedpan, or further tubes, Fig. 3 (not shown) provided with spray devices, may be connected to the tubes 8 for use of the receptacle as a bidet. Flexible pipes 9 controlled by taps 10 supply water &c. to the tubes 8. The receptacle is provided with a soap recess 5 and mounting lugs 12. The bowl may be generally bilobate in plan view and the rim 4 and/or the base 3 of the bowl may be replaced by alternative such members. A hole 6 may be used to store the receptacle on a hook and a hole in the base 3 may be provided with a screw-in or a slip-in plug. The rim and the base may lie in converging planes, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown) and the rear part of the rim may fold down, Fig. 6 (not shown) to facilitate mounting.
