Abstract

1402130 Bidet attachments for sanitary closets P L COUTELLIER 17 Nov 1972 [18 Nov 1971] 53244/72 Heading E1C [Also in Division A4] A spray attachment for a sanitary closet or bidet consists of a spray head 2 which is fitted to a seat-lid or cover 1 for directing a spray of water into the bowl 9, which as shown is a bidet but may alternatively be a closet bowl (12, Fig. 2, not shown). The spray head 2 is mounted via a ball head 3 on a slideway 7 on the lid, the lower end of the slideway 7 having a release portion so that the head 2 may be removed for hand-held use. Water is fed to the spray head via a flexible hose 5 from a mixer tap 6. In the alternative construction for a sanitary closet (Fig. 2, not shown), the slideway is omitted and a valve in the rear wall of the closet bowl supplies water to the spray head. A low-flush cistern of the closet has a lid (10) provided with an up-turned rim which serves as a hand hold permitting invalids and elderly persons to sit facing the cistern.
