Abstract

1484188 Incinerators EAU ET ASSAINISSEMENT SOCEA 31 Oct 1974 [6 Nov 1973] 47281/74 Heading F4B An incinerator for sludge comprises a furnace 1, a sludge sprayer 12 directed downwardly, air and fuel supply for a burner 3 below the sprayer and jets 16 for injecting fuel. The sludge is dried by the rising combustion gases, then itself burnt and the residues carried out through flue 5. The flue gases pass through a heat exchanger for heating air for burner 3, and a cyclone dust separator to an exhaust fan 10. The jets 16 are arranged one on each side of and below the combustion zone, being slightly offset from the centre line. Solid refuse 18 may be introduced by a ram 22 so that it falls on to a conical grate 24 supplied with air by blower 26. Ashes are removed through a drum type extractor 25.
