Abstract

1483620 Dispensing cartons ST REGIS PAPER CO 25 Oct 1974 [14 Dec 1973] 46384/74 Heading B8P A package for dispensing, e.g. plastics film 12 from a roll comprises a carton 11 with an exit opening for the film 12 and a ribbon 38 of abrasive particles, e.g. crushed flint, adhered to a wall 21 of-the carton 11 to define a cutting edge for severing portions of the film 12. The abrasive is preferably applied to carton blanks (17), Fig. 1 (not shown), by providing a strip of glue on the blanks (17) and applying the particles to the glued area, or a strip of preformed abrasive sheet, e.g. sandpaper, may alternatively be applied. The carton 11 includes a tear-off extension 28 which protects the abrasive ribbon during shipping, &c.
