Abstract

1481764 Epoxy resin composition SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 23 June 1975 [22 June 1974] 26581/75 Heading C3B A curable composition comprises (I) at least one copolymer of ethylene with an epoxy group containing unsaturated monomer; (II) at least one epoxy resin; and (III) at least one epoxy resin curing agent. Examples of I are (by wt.) 88 : 12 ethylene/glycidyl methacrylate; 90 : 10 ethylene/allyl glycidyl ether; 82 : 12 : 6 ethylene/glycidyl methacrylate/vinyl acetate and 95 : 5 ethylene/3,4-epoxy-3-methyl-1-butene copolymer. II may be a diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A or an epoxy novolac resin. III may be a polyamine, a polycarboxylic acid anhydride or dicyandiamide. A curing accelerator, e.g. dicyandiamide may additionally be present.
