Abstract
1480887 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems NALCO CHEMICAL CO 10 Nov 1975 46410/75 Heading G3P [Also in Division B8] An assembly 11 includes a filling nozzle 26 and two probes 34, 35 which sense the product level in a drum 21 and thereby, through a fluid logic circuit operating a pneumatic actuator, control a valve in a cabinet 10 of a portable automatic filling apparatus, the valve inlet 13 being connected to a product supply 15 and the outlet 14 to the nozzle 26. Button 41 is pressed and the valve opens fully to fill the drum until product contacts the probe 35 when the valve switches to an intermediate position and filling continues at a slower rate. When product reaches probe 34, the valve closes fully and filling stops. An alarm sounds when the valve switches to the intermediate and closed positions and indicators 43, 44, 45 indicate the valve position. An emergency stop button 42 is provided and the fluid logic circuit includes means preventing the actuator driving the valve to the fully open position from the intermediate position on pressing button 41. A flange 32 integral with nozzle 26 rests on a bush around the drum bunghole and adjustably supports probes 34, 35 in vertical holes. A manual shut-off valve 29 is provided and the apparatus is rinsed by connecting it to a cold water supply.
