Abstract

1478442 Automatic position control SYSTROM-DONNER CORP 10 March 1975 9864/75 Heading G3R The outputs of a level sensor and an angular motion sensor mounted on a body are combined to produce an output signal indicative of the angular position of the body referred to a local horizontal. Displacement of the body along its nominal vertical axis is also measured and is transformed into a true vertical displacement signal by using the derived angular position signal. The system illustrated includes linear and angular accelerometers 93, 94, summing junctions 139, 107, and a double integrating combining network 97 producing an angular position signal as described in Specification 1380029, and used for maintaining an angle of tilt of a machine part. In addition, the output signal is fed to a circuit 200 which uses it to transform the output from an accelerometer 201 sensitive to motion along the nominal vertical axis of the machine part into a true vertical displacement signal h.
