Abstract

1476311 Cable hauling apparatus MASSEYFERGUSON-PERKINS Ltd 23 May 1974 [24 May 1973] 24932/73 Heading B8B [Also in Divisions E1-E2] An actuator 9 for pulling a rope 8 attached to a latch mechanism 7 of a bucket 5 on a bucket loader 1, for effecting unlatching, comprises an electric motor 19 having a rope winding drum 21 mounted on the output shaft thereof, the motor being mounted in a cradle 10 and being remotely controllable by a switch 32 in the cab 2 of the loader 1. The drum can also be rotatable to pay out the rope. The rope 8 can be pulled for a short period to effect unlatching whereafter the motor 19 stalls. The motor 19 is received in recessed end walls 16 of the cradle 10 with pins on the motor casing being received in slots 16a, 16b in one wall 16 to resist the drum torque, the motor being held in the casing by elastic bands 24. The rope 8 is formed with a loop for connection over a peg 28 extending from the drum hub through an aperture 25 in one flange of the drum.
