Abstract
1474978 Curie point switches TOHOKU METAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 27 Sept 1974 [27 Sept 1973] 42146/74 Heading H1N A curie point switch 8 has a magnetic reed contact unit with a permanent magnet and a ferromagnetic body having a temperature related permeability adjacent or around the contact unit to provide a closed magnetic loop with the reeds and an auxilary permanent magnet 30 or 31 is rotatably mounted in the vicinity of the permanent magnet and ferromagnetic body so as to have a variable influence on the switch. A magnet similar to that of Fig. 2a may be of disc shape and have a screwdriver slot allowing for rotation in a switch casing (Fig. 5, not shown). The magnet 31 of Fig. 3 is rotatable about its longitudinal axis and two halves thereof on opposite sides of a plane passing through the axis are magnetized in opposite directions.
