Abstract

1474278 Inflating lifebuoys I D PRAGER 31 July 1974 33795/74 Heading B7U A lifebuoy comprises an inflatable bladder 15 in a container with two parts 12, 13 hinged together at 14. Inflation is effected by pulling the parts 12, 13 apart, causing a roller 23 to press on the head 27 of a pin which punctures a gas cartridge 16. The cartridge 16 is located entirely within the bladder 15. A plate pivoted at 32 prevents the roller 23 from damaging the bladder. The roller 23 is mounted on a slide 22 so that it may be retracted into the container part 13.
