Abstract
1473934 Heat-treating steel NIPPON STEEL CORP 31 July 1974 [31 July 1973] 33686/74 Heading C7A A steel containing in wt. per cent, is heated at 1250-1400C to dissolve at least 0À004% of Ti N which is then re-precipitated as finely dispersed particles not larger than 0À02 Á, particularly by working, or by reheating to not more than 1150C. Advantageously the steel is cooled from the initial heating step to below 800C at 50 to 60C/minute before reheating, while if there is an intermediate working operation before reheating it should be terminated above 1000C.
