1472683 Recovery of aluminium E M A WILLHOFT 4 Feb 1976 [5 Feb 1975] 4969/75 Heading C1A Aluminium values may be recovered from an aluminium-containing mineral by heating an intimate mixture of the mineral and a fibrous carbonizable organic material to carbonize the organic material, chlorinating the residue, and recovering the chlorination product. Suitable minerals are bauxite, kaolinite or mica, and the carbonizable material may be cellulosic such as dried paper sludge.
