Abstract

1470891 Guiding lifts WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 20 Sept 1974 [25 Sept 1973] 41077/74 Heading B8L A roller guide device mountable on an elevator car for co-acting with an elevator guide rail 30, comprises three interchangeable guide roller assemblies 90, 92, 94 each adjustable on a support 42 to facilitate use of different sizes of guide rail. One of the roller assemblies is mounted on each of three shafts 72, 74, 76 extending outwardly from a portion 52 of the support 42, recesses 79 and 77 in the latter receiving the guide web of the rail 30, in use. Each roller assembly comprises a rail engaging roller 98 pivotally mounted at each end of, and between, a pair of support plates 100, 102 which at their mid-length pivotally support a sleeve 110 therebetween. The sleeve 110 is snugly received on the respective shaft 74, which extends through a resilient member 126 housed in a member 122 secured to the support 42 by nuts 142 threaded on to the shaft end 80 to squeeze the resilient member 126 into the housing 122.
