Abstract

1,030,728. Lift car guide rollers. OTIS ELEVATOR CO. July 12, 1963, No. 27754/63. Heading B8L. In a three-roller guide device for a lift car, the rollers 32, 52 engaging the side faces 15 of a T-section guide rail are mounted on axles 38 secured to bell-crank levers 40 which are pivotally mounted at 30 on the body portion 29 of the device and which have arms 34 adjustably connected to each other by a link 50. The rollers have rubber or the like tyres and are urged into engagement with the guide rail by springs 54 which are mounted on bolts 46 secured to the body portion 29 and which act between nuts 48 and lugs 44 on the bell-crank levers 40. The bell-crank levers 40 are connected to dashpots 55, 56 and are provided with adjustable stops 59. The stops 59 and the link 50 are adjusted so that both rollers engage the guide rail continuously and prevent the guide rail from touching the sides of a recess 26 in the body portion of the device. The third roller 62 is similarly mounted on a bell-crank lever 40 which is not connected to the corresponding bell-crank lever of the guide device on the other side of the lift car.
