Abstract

1470886 Boxes R S FEINBERG and D A SELICK 1 April 1974 [2 April 1973] 14317/74 Heading B8P [Also in Division A6] A storage receptacle for a gas-pressurized (e.g. tennis) ball includes two body portions 12, Fig. 3, each defining a generally hemispherical cavity 16, and a third body portion 11 formed with a generally cylindrical through-aperture 13, the sphere diameters of the cavities 16 being equal to each other and substantially the same as the diameter of aperture 13. When closed, the receptacle provides a generally spherical cavity, which may be of slightly smaller diameter than that of the unstressed ball. The body portions of the illustrated embodiment, Fig. I, provide three such cavities. In alternative embodiments, Fig. 4-6 (not shown), tapering lips 18 of body portions 12 are dispensed with and the inner surface of portion 11 is convex or concave.
