1470345 Microwave oven MOSKOV INST NAROD KHOZYAISTVA IM G V PLEK HANOVA 13 June 1974 26195/74 Heading H5H A microwave oven for cooking or processing canned foods in which the food products 16 are continuously conveyed therethrough, comprises a housing 1 provided with a stepped roof 2 in the lower part of which is a combined loading and unloading opening 5, a rotor comprising a conductive shaft 7 carrying a conducting disc 8 mounted in the housing 1, the rotor disc 8 being provided with a pair of upstanding cylindrical conductive walls 9, 10 between which is defined an annular trough which is subdivided into segments by equispaced radially extending vertical conductive partitions 12, dielectric trays 15 in the segments to support the products 16, and a microwave generator 24 coupled to the oven through a microwave coupler 23, the arrangement being such that those partitions 12 beneath the higher part of roof 2 are spaced from roof 2 so that a working chamber is defined between the higher part of the roof 2, the disc 8 upstanding walls 9, 10 and partitions 12, whereas those partitions 12 beneath the lower part of the stepped roof 2 make electrical contact therewith thereby preventing microwave leakage from the working chamber. Annular walls 3, 4 depending from roof 2 co-operate with 10, 11 and wall 9 of the disc 8 to provide quarter wavelength chokes which prevent microwave leakage into a base 26 of the housing which contains a motor 20 and reduction gearing 19 for the rotor and a transformer 28 and rectifier 29 for the microwave generator. A ventilator 25 is provided for the working chamber in the coupler 23.
