Abstract

1469692 Data recorder ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 9 May 1974 [10 May 1973] 20468/74 Heading G4M Electrodes 31 for burning holes in a metal coating on a record carrier are coupled by a switch 37 to an electrical voltage during recording and adjacent electrodes are coupled to earth during recording. The electrodes are separated by insulating strips and may have auxiliary electrodes 32 between main electrodes 31 the auxiliary and main electrodes also being separated by insulating strips. The auxiliary electrodes are all connected to earth. The metal coating first passes an earth electrode 35, is supported on a base 36 and has areas burned away by selected electrodes 31. If an electrically conductive bridge 39 is formed by metal from the coating it is burned away by a short circuit current. The recording electrodes are connected to earth during intervals between recording.
