Abstract

1468266 Structural joints J W PRATT 15 May 1975 [16 March 1974] 11814/74 Heading F2M [Also in Division E1] A building or like structure comprises stanchions 2 connected together at an angle by a plate 8 in the shape of a trapezium, each stanchion being of hollow form, e.g. of sheet steel formed to the cross-section shown, providing grooves 4 and a slot 6, and the plate 8 having its two non-parallel side edges 14, (16) adapted, e.g. by spacer sleeves 17 welded on opposite sides of the plate to fit into the slot 6 of two of the stanchions 2 to be secured together at an angle equal to that between the sides 14, (16) of the plate 8. Securing bolts are passed through apertures in the bases of the grooves 4 on either side of the slot 6, through the sleeves 17 and through apertures in the plate 8 to secure the assembly.
