Abstract

1465951 Suspended furnace roofs SIRMA SOC ITALIANA REFRATTARI MARGHERA AZIONARIA 22 March 1974 [22 March 1973] 12878/74 Heading F4B A suspended furnace roof comprises rows of hanger bricks 22 having lateral projections 22d on which rest blocks 24, adjacent bricks being engaged by co-operating grooves 22e and projections 22b and every third brick having a head end 22a with lateral projections 22b engaging U-shaped hooks 21 hung from transverse beams 20. The bricks 22, Figs. 9 and 10, may be replaced by ones having T-sectioned slats at their upper ends, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), whereby the hooks 21 engage projections formed by the arms of T. The blocks 24 have passageways (24b, Figs. 4 and 5) extending therethrough so that when assembled they define passageways extending along the roof. Adjacent contingent edges (24e, Fig. 6) of said blocks 24 are oblique. In a modification, Figs. 14 and 18 (not shown) the bricks between those engaged by the hooks 21 are omitted, the blocks 24 are replaced by ones having rebated corners, and the bricks have the lateral projections for the blocks on all four sides.
