Abstract

1,121,991. Furnace lining block. B. J. WILCE. 3 Dec., 1966, No. 54204/66. Heading F4B. A furnace lining block is of hexagonal crosssection, and may have recesses and projections on alternate side walls to facilitate assembly, Fig. 4 or may have holes to receive tensioning wires. The end face of the block may be formed as a projecting pyramid, or the block may be tapered so as to enable arched or dome-shaped roofs to be formed. The end of the block may have a metal or ceramic hangar, and a row of at least two blocks may be formed as a single unit, Fig. 8.
