Abstract

1464108 Valves M H GROVE and J M E GROVE [trading as M & J DEVELOPMENT CO] 10 Sept 1974 [26 Sept 1973] 39450/74 Heading F2V The closure member of a plug valve comprises two cup-shaped resilient members 28 for sealing with the cylindrical surface of a sleeve 14 disposed in the body of the valve and end clamping members 33, 34 each with annular flange portions which serve to restrain the outward movement of the resilient members 28 when the closure member is moved from the closed to open position. Restraining portions are also provided on a spacer member 32. The members 28 have opposed frusto-conical portions joined by an annular portion (as shown in Fig. 1) or by a projecting rib-like portion (63, Fig. 5, not shown).
