Abstract

863,837. Braid. K.A.C. Ltd. Aug. 19, 1959 [Aug. 22, 1958], No. 27111/58. Class 74 (1). A tubular braid is made up of a number of ribbons braided together, each ribbon consisting of one or more strands each of which is of a cross-section caused by rolling or drawing a strand of circular cross-section so as to form a flat section strand. The strands are then braided so that their flat sides are at right angles to the radii of the braid. The strands may be composed of stainless steel wire, nylon or other synthetic monofilaments or a combination of such materials. One or more strands running longitudinally of the braid may be incorporated so that they pass between the helices of opposite hand where these cross one another.
