Abstract

1463432 Ink ribbons FILMON PROCESS CORP 2 July 1975 [3 July 1974 19 May 1975] 27862/75 Heading B6F An ink ribbon comprises a printing portion 14 consisting of inked fabric and a correction portion 16 consisting of a backing 20 supporting correction material 28, the correction portion backing being butt welded edge-to-edge on to the printing portion, the thickness of the printing portion being greater than the overall thickness of the correction portion. The correction portion may comprise a transparent polymeric backing 20, carrying a paper layer 26 on which the correction material 26 is coated. The paper layer 26 is narrower than the backing 20 to leave a gap 34 to prevent the ribbon guides from scraping off the material 26, and a gap 36 to prevent migration of ink from portion 14 into the correction material 26.
