Abstract
1463100 Breeding cage BEHRINGWERKE AG 17 Sept 1974 [17 Sept 1973] 40534/74 Heading AIM A cage for breeding small animals comprises a thermoplastics open-topped rectangular box 1 having a curved flange 2 at its upper edge, a base and walls containing apertures 3, 4, 5, 6, rounded edges and corners and can be divided into two regions by a partition wall inserted into grooves 7. Each of these two regions has an aperture 5 for water-supply and an aperture 4 through which may be passed a food container and which is closable by slide 8 having bolts 9 sliding in slots 6. The base and one side wall have ventilation slots 3. The walls may slope slightly outwardly in the upwards direction, so that several cages can be stacked. A nesting box (Fig. 4) comprises a shallow tray having elongated projections 11 on its base, which engage in base slots 3 when the box is placed in one part of the tray. The nesting-box has recess 12 to accommodate food container passed through aperture 4.
