Abstract

1461529 Reciprocating pumps J I CASE CO 17 Sept 1974 [17 Sept 1973 20 Sept 1973 13 March 1974 15 May 1974] 40455/74 Heading F1A A pump, e.g. for concrete, comprises a single or. twin cylinder, Fig. 14 (not shown) pumping unit 12 driven by a hydraulic ram 44 and connected to a supply hopper 14 having a valve-member 130 comprising a cranked tube rotatably connected to a delivery pipe 120 and oscillated by a hydraulic ram 136 to move its inlet end into or out of communication with the cylinder opening 124, Fig. 8, in the single cylinder embodiment, or into alternate communication with the two cylinder openings of the twin cylinder embodiment, paddles 162, 182 being mounted on the valve-member 130 to agitate the concrete and move it towards the cylinder opening. An electrical control circuit for synchronizing the pump piston and valve movements, Fig. 9 (not shown), is operable to actuate the valvemember only at timed intervals to effect agitation of the concrete when the pump is not operating. The pump and a prime mover are mounted on a wheeled chassis, Fig. 1 (not shown). The valvemember assembly has a wear ring (290), Figs. 10 to 12 (not shown), engaging an adjustable wear plate (280). Bearing and support arrangements for valvemember 130 are described, Figs. 10, 11 and 13 (not shown).
