Abstract

1460939 Transfer printing STOREY BROS & CO Ltd 9 Oct 1975 [15 Oct 1974] 44647/74 Heading D1B A printed support used in transfer printing comprises a paper support to one surface to which has been applied a pattern of sublimable dye or dyes, the other surface having been treated with a lacquer which reduces the permeability of that surface of the paper support to the diffusion of sublimed dyes. The lacquer may be based on casein, gelatin, carboxymethyl cellulose, or any combination thereof, may additionally contain a silicone and is preferably applied at 0.5 to 50 gms per square metre. The lacquer may render the surface of the paper non adherent and/or non- receptive to sublimable dyes.
