Abstract
1457000 Valves NIVOBA BV and T H HOLTHUIS 28 Dec 1973 60057/73 Heading F2V [Also in Division B1] Slurry is fed at a variable rate through inlet 26 into a housing 23, 24 having outlets 29a-29d leading to rotary drum presses of limited capacity, and fluid pressure applied at 27 to one side of an elastic diaphragm 25 urges the diaphragm to close the outlets, whereby as the slurry feed increases the diaphragm is progressively deflected by the resulting pressure build-up to uncover one outlet after another until the feed balances the capacity of the presses being supplied. If the feed rises beyond the total capacity of the presses a further outlet 30 is exposed which provides a by-pass. The fluid pressure on the diaphragm is limited by an adjustable pressure relief valve 28. Fig. 8 shows a flat diaphragm clamped between two housing members. In Figs. 1, 6, 7 (not shown) a tubular diaphragm is located in a tubular main duct with annular extensions leading to the outlets (6).
