Abstract

1455992 Rotary drum mixers LINER CONCRETE MACHINERY CO Ltd 10 April 1974 [10 Jan 1973] 1304/73 Heading B1C [Also in Division F2] A pulley 2 in the drive to a reversible drum mixer is driven in one direction by a pulley 1 and belt 6, and in the opposite direction by contact between the pulleys when one of them is moved towards the other. As shown the pulley 1 is carried by an engine-driven shaft 3 and the pulley 2 is mounted on a reduction gear housing 4 pivotable about an output shaft 7 by a lever 8 and link 9. A mixing drum 5 rests on rollers 10, 11 driven by the shaft 7, and the arrangement is such that the torque reaction on the housing 4 assists the lever 8 by tensioning the belt or pressing the pulleys together. The pulley 1 is faced with a friction material e.g. neoprene or polyurethane.
