Abstract

1453470 Rear-view mirrors SOC COMMERCIALE DU COMPTOIR DES INVENTIONS PRATIQUES POUR L'AUTOMOBILE 18 Dec 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 58500/73 Addition to 1387906 Heading B7J A rear-view driving mirror comprises a support 2, e.g. made of plastics and securable by an adhesive coating to the interior of a windscreen 1, an arm 4, an elastically deformable clamp 12 and a mirror reflector in a head 5, one end of the arm 4 being detachably fixed to the support 2 by means of the clamp 12 and the mirror head 5 being fixed to the other end of the arm 4, wherein the clamp 12 engages astride the one end of the arm 4 and has a pair of limbs 12b each provided with a longitudinally extending rib 13 which snap engages in a corresponding slot 10 formed in a respective longitudinally extending boss 9, the two bosses 9 defining an aperture in the support 2, the arrangement being such that when a predetermined force is applied to the mirror the clamp 12 moves with the arm 4 to snap out of engagement with the support 2.
