Abstract

1510215 Rearview mirrors BRITAX (WINGARD) Ltd 8 April 1976 [5 May 1975] 18761/75 Heading B7J A rearview mirror for mounting on either side of a vehicle comprises an arm 1 provided with mounting studs 11, 12 and a mirror head 2 pivotally mounted at one corner about an axis BB on the arm 1, the head 2 having a frame 3 for a reflective member 7 which is mountable in the frame 3 in either of two positions only according to which side of a vehicle the rearview mirror is to be mounted. As shown the plastics frame 3 has two inner peripheral grooves 4, 5 into either of which the member 7 can be snapped. An ornamental backing plate 6 may be provided for snapping into the groove not in use for the member 7. The frame 3 has a central web 9 which may serve as an ornamental backing instead of a plate 6. Alternatively the web 9 may be omitted and only a single groove provided in the frame into which the member 7 may be snapped in either of two positions according to the hand of the rearview mirror desired.
