Abstract

1453461 Boxes; discharging hoppers TIOXIDE GROUP Ltd 10 May 1974 [5 April 1973] 16231/73 Headings B8C B8P and B8S A package comprises an assembly of two or more box-like members for fluent material each having a discharge aperture 10 in its base and a polyethylene or polypropylene liner 11 suspended from the tops of its walls and providing a shoot through the apertured base. The shoot is of sufficient length 16 to be folded to close the discharge aperture. The boxes may be placed on a pallet for transportation and may be of cardboard, wood, metal or a plastics sheet and may be disposable. A sliding or hinged member may close the aperture in the base. The box-like members are strapped together by bands 3, 4 and pairs of boxes can be encircled by a further band 7. Alternatively, the boxes can be secured together by a heat shrunk tube of polyethylene. Each box can have a lid or one lid 13 can be provided for a group of strapped boxes. The lid may be hinged.
