Abstract
1452572 Rotary positive-displacement fluid-machines H L PAUL 27 Aug 1974 [27 Aug 1973] 37388/74 Heading F1F An energy converter, Fig. 1, comprises a primary rotor 6 with ports 10 which co-operate with inlet and exhaust ports 14, 15, and a secondary rotor 11 in a parallel-sided chamber 7 eccentrically mounted on a shaft 13 which is offset from the axis of the primary rotor. As described, the device functions as a two-stroke I.C. engine and a sparking plug 16 is provided. Figs. 2-6 (not shown), illustrate the cycle of events. In a second embodiment, Figs. 8, 9, two secondary rotors 23, 24 are provided in a primary rotor 17. The chambers which house the secondary rotors are at 90 degrees to one another and the rotors are 180 degrees out of phase. Rotor 23 compresses the charge which is then transferred to the power rotor 24, thus, 360 degrees power operation is achieved. Figs. 10, 11 show an embodiment which operates as a pump when a shaft 40 is rotated. A primary rotor 35 houses two secondary rotors 41, 43. A slip-ring seal 50, Fig. 14, with flat sides and arcuate ends may be provided.
