Abstract
1451438 Mechanical switches MK ELECTRIC Ltd 22 Nov 1973 [22 Nov 1972] 53916/72 Heading H1N [Also in Division H2] In an electric switch assembly incorporating an electronic dimmer system all the switch and dimmer components are mounted on a base member 26, Fig. 5, of insulating material and enclosed by a cover-plate 45 of insulating material whereby the terminal connections as 30, 32 are the only accessible conductive parts. The switch rocker 41 and dimmer rheostat control 44, Fig. 2 are accessible through apertures in the cover-plate 45. A rocking movable contact 38 of the switch is supported on an upturned lug 37 of a fixed common contact 36 for engagement with alternative fixed contacts 34, 35 when operated by a projection 40 on the rocker 41. All the switch parts are mounted in recesses in the base 26 and retained by the cover 45 with the terminals 30, 31, 32, 33 opposite apertures in the base 26. Circuits are described showing the dimmer and two-way switch used to control two lamps with fixed and variable intensity and in conjunction with an additional two-way switch to provide control from two points.
