Abstract
1451393 Proteinaceous animal feeds RAFFINERIE TIRLEMONTOISE 11 Jan 1974 [12 Jan 1973] 01446/74 Heading A2B An animal feed in the form of a dry proteinated concentrate, comprises 55 to 85%, based on total dry matter, of dry matter from sugar beet molasses residual liquor (vinasse) and 45 to 15% of dry matter from a vegetable substrate. The concentrate contains at least 20% by wt. of protein and, normally, less than 13% moisture, and is made by mixing together appropriate quantities of residual liquor concentrate (60 to 90% solids) and the vegetable substrate, and drying. The vegetable substrate may be beet pulp, milling middlings, cereal bran, hay, straw, or grain meal. Wheat straw, wheat bran and lucerne hay are named in examples. The residual liquor may be formed by fermenting the sugar, and distilling off the alcohol. Standard additives e.g. vitamins and minerals, may be included.
