Abstract

1450951 Heat transfers JOSEPH DAWSON (HOLDINGS) Ltd 16 April 1974 [28 March 1973] 14840/73 Heading B6C [Also in Division D1] Textile fabrics are printed by pressing a transfer sheet against the fabric and radiofrequency heating. In one embodiment, alternate layers of fabric and transfer sheet are sandwiched between opposed plates in a closed chamber; alternatively when printing a web, the web is passed over rollers heated by R.F. radiation. The transfer sheet incorporates a padding composition, or at least the non- aqueous constituent thereof, e.g. formic, acetic or sulphamic acid; these constituents can be applied as a coating before or after printing of the transfer sheet, or can be incorporated in the printing ink.
