Abstract

1363145 Transfer dyeing TOPPAN PRINTING CO Ltd and TOYO INK MFG CO Ltd 14 July 1971 [22 July 1970] 33084/71 Heading D1B [Also in Division B6] A laminate (as defined) of a sheet material carrying a colouring material containing at least one dyestuff which is not a fibre-reactive disperse dyestuff and which can sublimate, melt or evaporate, a material to be dyed, a material which is porous, heat durable and is not dyed during the dyeing process adjacent the material to be dyed, is situated between two metal plates which are heated and the laminate evacuated to a pressure of less than 100 mm Hg, the dyestuff then transferring to the material to be dyed. Paper is preferably used as the transfer sheet and textiles dyed include polyolefines, vinyl chloride, polyurethanes, acrylonitrile copolymers which may be in the form of pile fabric, felt, carpeting, velvet or knitted forms.
