Abstract

1450871 Joist hangers D W WORDSWORTH E T ASTON and J R LOACH 8 Aug 1975 [8 Aug 1974] 34909/74 Heading E1W A joist hanger is formed in two parts 11, 12 so that the support shoe 12, which may be integrally formed in the manner disclosed in Specification 1431122, can be fixed to the bracket 11 in any one of a number of vertically displaced positions. The backwall of the shoe 12 and the vertical plate 14 of the bracket 11 are provided with complementary interlocking tongues and slots 20, 33 which transfer the load from the shoe to the bracket. The shoe and bracket are also provided with interlocking tabs 22, 35 the tab 22 of which may be deformed after hanging of the shoe on the bracket to prevent subsequent disengagement.
