Abstract

1450756 Pliers; handles; scissors G YGFORS 3 Jan 1975 [18 Jan 1974] 315/75 Headings B4W B4K and B4B A crossed-lever tool such as a pair of pliers or scissors has a resilient plastics band 14 connected between the outer ends of the handles 6, 7 so as to bias the jaws 2, 4 apart, each handle having a cylindrical hole 8, 9 and a slot 10, 11 extending therefrom to the end of the handle and the band being formed at its ends to match the holes and slots. The band 14 is formed with a thickened portion 23 arranged on one side so that the opening force exerted by the band varies according to which way it is fitted between the handles. The handles 6, 7 may be of reinforced fibreglass.
