Abstract

1449962 Tanks with floating roofs BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 29 Jan 1974 [6 Feb 1973] 04068/74 Heading E1T In a floating roof having a framework supporting a sealing screen 28, the framework comprises a grid made up from upper and lower horizontal tubes 1, 1a, 2, 2a, integrated with one another by further horizontal tubes such as 6 which are disposed at an angle thereto and integrally connected to a peripheral rim 11 having sealing contact with the tank as by means of a seal 20, 24, 25. The framework is re-inforced by stringers such as 12..15, tie rods 30, 31 and is provided with supporting legs 9, 27 sliding in guides 26. Rain water is discharged through an articulated tube 32 terminating in a pipe 33.
