Abstract

1449608 Pipe couplings CHARLES WESTON & CO Ltd 26 Nov 1973 [24 Oct 1972] 48875/72 Heading F2G In a swivel pipe joint, a porous dry-running bearing bush 11 with a fixed leakage rate has an annular gap 12, for the passage of fluid between port 2 and duct 10. The bush 11 may be of porous plastic or carbon and is keyed to a stationary housing 1. The radial clearance between the bush and a rotatable sleeve 4 is adjustable by means of screws 19, 20, which secure thrust washer 18 to sleeve 4. A porous ring 21 has an annular recess 22 communicating with gap 12, via ducts 23.
