Abstract

1359028 Bearings SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 10 Dec 1971 [15 Dec 1970] 57515/71 Heading F2A A flange element for mounting a bearing comprises a support member having a thinwalled annular portion 2 with substantial axial extent, an annular inwardly-directed flange 3 at one end of the annular portion, and an annular outwardly-directed flange 1 at the other end, and elastic material 6, 7 secured to at least the outer periphery of the annular portion. Circumferentially-spaced slots 4 may be provided. The flange 3 locks into a complementary groove in the outer race ring of the bearing (Fig. 5), and the element is bolted to the housing through a radial extension 14. The bolt 15 may also carry a cover member 17 provided with a sealing lip.
