1447765 Handling livestock MAFFRAY LORD RUGBY AL 6 Nov 1973 [17 Nov 1972 7 May 1973] 53263/73 and 21560/73 Heading A5R An assembly for immobolising an animal has a frame 3. through which the animal can pass, and a gate 4 hinged vertically in the frame and movable between open and a trapping position in which an animal moving through the frame is trapped between head and shoulders; opertion of the gate being provided for by means of, for example, a rearward extending element 10 which has means for securing it in the trapping position of the gate e.g. chain 24 and cleats 23. A barrier 6 may be provided as part of the assembly, having a horizontal rail 20 for engaging the flanks of the animal. Latches 8 lifted by ramps 22 may be provided to secure the gate in the trapping position and to be released via a lanvard and handle 15 16
