Abstract

1446604 Separating liquid from gas U REGEHR 19 Sept 1973 [22 Sept 1972] 43884/ 73 Heading BIT An apparatus for separating liquid drops from gas comprises spaced parallel corrugated walls or baffles 2, the longitudinal axes of the crests 8 and troughs 7 of the corrugations extending at an,acute angle to the gas flow direction S, and the walls or baffles being shaped so that a portion of the gas flow path is generally V-shaped (as in Fig. 2) or curved. The baffles 2 have planar intake portions 3 and planar side portions 9, the portions 9 being held in slots 10 in chamber-defining walls 6. Adjacent walls 6 are held together by bonding strips 11. As shown the corrugations on one half of a baffle 2 are inclined to the corrugations on the other half. The components of the apparatus may be made from nickel-chrome steel.
