Abstract

1446479 Lubricating G TOLLE 10 Oct 1973 [12 Out 1973] 47312/73 Heading F2A [Also in Division D1] A sewing machine hook 10 (see Division D1) is lubricated by a duct 15 leading from a reservoir and having an end 17 moved towards the hook, when the latter is stationary, by linkage 38 connected to the stitching control cam of the machine. The duct end 17 deposits lubricant in a cavity 32 at the rear of the hook; the lubricant is then distributed centrifugally after the duct has been withdrawn on starting the machine. In another embodiment (Figs. 1-3 not shown) the end 17 is connected to a pivoted lever (21) actuated by a further lever (22) abutting a pin (25) on a rod (26) which moves when a frame arm (2) carrying the hook 11 is raised after the machine is stopped.
