Abstract

1444219 Vehicle doors MAGIRUS-DEUTZ AG 22 Feb 1974 [24 Feb 1973] 8158/74 Headings B7B and B7J An arrangement for mounting a vehicle door 1 comprises two arms 7, 8 pivotally connected to the door at 5, 6 and to the vehicle body at 9, 10, the arm 7 being of variable length to permit the door to turn about one edge adjacent the vehicle-opening. The arm 7 comprises telescopic parts 7a, 7b spring-loaded to facilitate opening and closing of the door. As shown, the door edge 4 engages a lip on the vehicle body and the edge 11 is held closed by a latch. Alternatively, the hinge pins 5 adjacent the edge 4 engage slotted guides on the vehicle body (Fig. 2, not shown). In another embodiment, the door edge 11 is hook-shaped and engages a retaining pin (Fig. 6, not shown).
