1443901 Toy vehicle suspensions METTOY CO Ltd 2 Jan 1975 [17 Jan 1974] 2350/74 Heading A6S A tracked toy vehicle with independentlysprung suspension, e.g. a toy tank, has parallel axles 10 each carrying a wheel 11 at each end, an endless track being provided around each set of wheels, the axles being mounted for vertical movement within the body of the vehicle and the springing being provided by one or more resilient members 12, Fig. 1, each bearing against all of the axles 10. The vehicle has a body portion 1 and a chassis portion 2, both die-cast moulded in synthetic material and joined by co-operating pegs 3 in the body 1 and bosses 4 in the chassis 2. Corresponding recesses 6 and 7 in the chassis and body respectively form vertical slots within which the axles 10 are located. Springing is preferably by two resilient foam blocks 12, Fig. 1, running longitudinally of the body; alternatively, a spring plate 16, Fig. 4, of moulded plastics may be secured within the vehicle, projections 20 engaging each end of each axle. When foam blocks 12 are used a strip of pliable material may be applied to the lower surface of each, between the axles and blocks, to prevent permanent deformation of the blocks.
