Abstract

1441783 Comminuting apparatus GARBALIZER CORP OF AMERICA 30 Oct 1973 [23 Feb 1973] 50478/73 Heading B2A A waste comminuting apparatus comprises a shaft 27, Fig. 2, bearing an assembly of spaced blades 10 and a cooperating fixed grid of bars 39, 44 Fig. 1, arranged so that the rotatable blades pass clear of its under surface and debris is projected centrifugally at the space C and does not render and jam the spaces 5 between the bars. Any debris remaining is wiped clear by a wiping blade 47. The blades 'are secured to the shaft 27 in a helical pattern by securing to hubs 24 which are keyed to the shaft as at 26. Shear pins 35, see also Fig. 5 yield in the event of a blockage.
