Abstract

1392319 Comminuting apparatus W HAEBERLE 20 Dec 1972 [24 Dec 1971] 58707/72 Heading B2A Comminuting apparatus for granulating waste plastic sheets comprises a pair of cooperating cutter members 5, 6 each comprising blades non-rotatably mounted on a shaft so as to interdigitate with the blade forming the outer cutter. A sheet 2 fed between the blades is granulated, the granules 11 falling into a container 12 from which they are removed by a worm 13. Material is prevented from sticking to the blades by scrapers 24, 25. The blades may be spaced apart by discs (48) Fig. 2a, not shown. The blades themselves comprise teeth 31, 34 Fig. 3 having points 32, 35 which cut transversely whilst longitudinal slitting is effected by the bases 33, 36 of the teeth.
