Abstract
1441678 Slider for heavy-duty slide fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 13 Feb 1974 [13 Feb 1973] 06500/74 Heading E2S A slider 10 for a slide fastener F, having a pull tab 17, 18 suspended on each side thereof so as to be pivotable between a first position, Fig. 2, in which the slider is free to move and a second position, Fig. 3, in which a locking means 20 on at least one pull tab 17 engages the fastener elements E to prevent movement, is characterised in that the two tabs are provided with interengaging means 22, 23 which holds the two tabs together in the second position. As shown, the slider 10, for heavy-duty slide fasteners, cornprises an upper wing 11 and a lower ring 12 constituting the slider body and connected together at a neck 13 at one end to provide, with side flanges 14 thereon a Y-shaped guide channel 15 for the passage therethrough of the fastener elements E, the pull tabs 17, 18 being pivoted respectively to lugs 16, 19 on the wings 11, 12. The pull tabs 18, 17 carry stud-and-socket releasable fastener elements 22, 23 respectively which, when the tabs 17, 18 are rotated from the position shown in Fig. 2, through 180‹, to the position, Fig. 4, can be snapped into engagement with each other above the heavy duty article C, e.g. an oil fence, to which the fastener 10 is secured by stitches S. In this position a locking prong 20 on the tab 17 projects through an opening 21 in the wing 11 to engage the fastener elements E.
